-Purpose of a Technology Plan: I believe the purpose of any district’s technology plan is to assess its current use of technology in the role of educating and managing its students. Once the state of the district is known, the technology coordinator along with the administration and school board outline a destination for the district as well as a path to reach this destination. This can be done most effectively through a properly designed and applied plan.
-Do you think a technology plan is beneficial? I absolutely believe that a technology plan is beneficial. As with any goal, it is more effectively reached when a purpose is determined along with a clear path leading to that purpose. By outlining a goal and how to reach it, it is easier to keep the students and their success at the foreground of the plan, as well as prevent making arbitrary decisions which may not benefit the district as a whole.
-How might a school utilize the information from a technology plan? How a school utilizes the information from its technology plan, is important to its success over the period for which it is valid. The information helps the district to decipher if the plan is working, if it needs to be modified as well as determines the overall capacity that technology will play in the role of a student becoming successful.
